Nano Rings / Micro Rings

This no heat method has been around for a couple of years and has grown in popularity as it is regarded as natural and kind to your own hair.  Small rings are used along with a pre-tipped hair extension strand.  No heat or glue is used with this method.

This is the simplest type of application, but it is not always entirely suited to those with fine hair.

With regular maintenance these extensions may last up to 9 months.

Sew In Wefts

Sew-In Weft are braidless Hair Extensions which has a unique application. It is ideal for many hair types, especially European Hair without the use of tight braids that are often used for sew in techniques.

The beaded track of micro rings that replaces the typical braid offers a much flatter position to the scalp, without the uncomfortable, and often damaging, tension of a braid.

This sew in weft technique gives a durable fitting without glue or heat, with the added benefit of being able to re-use the wefts to reposition many times.

These are more suitable for European Hair types and avoids the problems of Braids which cause pulling on hair and heaviness.

The hair is prepared by interlocking the clients natural hair with a secure thread base and the weft hair is sewn to the base creating an ultra flat sew in!

Advantage of Sew-In Weft Braidless (L.A. Weave)

The braidless sew-in as compared with Braided weft, is said to eliminate bulkiness throughout the hair.

Leaves no lumps or bumps, and gives more flexibility with styling.

Makes it easier putting your hair up into an updo style and a high, flat ponytail without any visible extensions.

Because your hair is not braided down, there is more breathing room for the scalp, which allows thorough cleansing when washing your hair.

Can be applied if you have at least 5 inches of hair.

Braidless Sew-In Weave sits flatter to your scalp and will be easier to sleep on than a braided corn row weave.

You will experience no pain unlike your standard weave.

Will feel similar to wearing clip ins however more permanent

Tape-In Hair Extensions

Tape-in hair extensions use strips of hair having clear double sided tape that is attached to the base of your hair. These strips or wefts are placed and taped as close to the scalp as possible, with your hair “sandwiched” in between the two wefts. Because the tape used is completely flexible and see-through, your natural scalp is completely visible.

Advantages of Tape-In Hair Extensions

These are a great solution if you are looking to have hair extensions for a short period of time but with the flexibility to keep them longer if you want to.

Tape-in hair extensions give a more comfortable feeling in your hair.

They lay flat against the head achieving a more natural look.

If the quality of Tape-in hair extensions is good then they can be re-used up to about three times though please check this with your stylist for professional advice as the tape will need to be replaced periodically. The application and removal of the tape is easy and simple but needs to be done professionally. The process to apply the extensions takes about 60 – 90 minutes.

You can part the hair creatively and pull your locks into partial and full up do’s without fear!

You can wash and style your hair as usual with tape-in hair extensions.

How long will the Tape-In Hair Extensions last

With proper care, regular maintenance these tape hair extensions can last for up to 6-8 weeks before they need to be reapplied.

Maintenance is recommended every 6 to 8 weeks (maximum) to keep your hair in good condition. During this session your Tape-In hair extensions are removed and re-serviced and then reapplied. This re-service means the your hair extensions are taken off, and reapplied after changing the tape. The hair extensions are then blended to give a natural look. New tape in hair extensions can also be applied at this stage.

It is important to keep up with maintenance to avoid any damage to your hair if left longer than recommended.

What is Remy Hair?

Remy is a term that is often used in the hair extension industry, and to those who are new to the world of hair extensions it is just one of many terms that can be confusing to understand. Whether or not hair extensions are “Remy” will have a huge affect on the quality and the longevity of the hair, which is why it is so important to understand the difference between Remy and non Remy products.

Here we shall look at what it means for hair extensions to be classed as “Remy”, what to look out for, and why it is so important for the quality of the hair.

The term Remy refers to human hair that has been collected from a human hair donor, and has undergone minimal processing to ensure that the hair is soft, silky and tangle free. To ensure that the hair remains tangle free all of the cuticles have been aligned, ensuring that they are all facing in the same direction, as they would if they had grown naturally from your scalp.
